Since I have the possiblity to expose things created by me in the Keukenhof I have been working like an idiot to manufacture a big statue out of polyester resin. Title "Dolphin trainer".
In the showroom of my work shop, my recently finished paintings are exposed. This photo is made of six photo's stitched together....... .I have to fill the time between polyester smear sssions and hardening, which takes quite a while with this temperature ( 11o C)
THE WALKIN & SHADOW CASTING 3D-DOG! A 3D-dog is nothing special, most of the dogs are, but 3D and überrealistisch, then place, time and action should be incorparated in the scene. The action is clear, the dog walks (and cast a shadow) The place is shown by the tiles. The shape and size of the shadow shows the time if day and latitude and longitude are known
The dog has been placed outside around 12 and his shadow has been drawn on a piece of plywood. Since it is the beginning of february and the latitude here is 52o, the shadows are long. Too long for my tiles that have dimension of 30cm x 30cm.
If the shadow that needs to be cast on the right spot and has the right length then the altitude of the sun must be alfa=27º. That will be the case roughly the 26th of february. Until then the shadow casting dog-project is halted.

For the time being the latest mover. The LMP season starts That means making and painting a lot of garden gnome-likes De latest windwobble has on FILM on youtube a simple sail that will start resonating by wind. ( It is not a sail like a normal sail on which the wind exerts a continuous force) The rather strong movement by the resonance makes the Wobble wobble. The resulting speed is 0,03 km/h. Watch it and beware! In principle it is one thing! All parts rigidly connected! No rotating or loosely attached parts. Unique!

This portrait was handed to him by the personel of the salmonotheque during the celebration of the 25th anniversery of the company. And obviously the job was granted to me! Own people and painters first in Strijen!
The trainer of the selfdefence course advised during the handing out of the certificates to practise regularly their just acqiuired knowledge; "Look around for a person slightly smaller in stature (man or woman) tell he looks ugly and and his mother is a whore then there will a chance that he will physically attack you and that is your chance to practice your recently acquired skills!"

This apparatus really moves! Film with explanation (dutch...)! It moves due to variation in temperature! The thing shrinks and expands and by the positioning of the sticks it moves forward! Gerrit van Bakel did it with his Tarim Machine ( I heard it did not move at all..)and undoubtedly others will have done it also; there is nothing new under the sun!
